275 GTB/2

The Ferrari 275 GTB/2 Shortnose, unveiled in 1964, represents an important milestone in the evolution of the brand's road models.

Designed by Pininfarina and bodied by Scaglietti, it stands out for its shorter front end than later versions, designed before the aerodynamic adjustments made to the ‘Longnose’ model.

It is powered by a 3.3-litre Colombo V12 engine developing around 280 horsepower.

This engine is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox, installed at the rear in a transaxle configuration.

This architecture, new for Ferrari at the time, allows for better weight distribution and improved stability.

The car is built on a tubular steel chassis, equipped with independent suspension on all four wheels and disc brakes.

It weighs around 1,100 kg and has a top speed of approximately 258 km/h.

With around 236 units produced, the 275 GTB/2 Shortnose is now recognised for its mechanical purity and its pivotal role between the Ferraris of the 1950s and the more modern models that followed.

It combines the simplicity of the twin-cam engine with the technical rigour that would make the Ferrari GTs of the following decades so renowned.
